Corporate colleges and institutes training for engg, medical and other entrances

There are many corporate colleges - so these are called - which have space for intelligent and normal students for training them towards XII and subsequent entrance tests.  Such institutes exist and will exist in many states and not much can be done.  There could be a difference between such institutes and regular schools mainly concentrating on XII board exams.  Culture, openness, leadership training, projects, interactions, sports, games, inter school interactions and competitions, skills in languages - some of these perhaps.

This may not be true about all institutes.  Some corporate training institute students get bored of the methodology, some say okay, some get on, some say they succeeded because of such training.  The nature of student perhaps also makes a difference in the opinion.

Perhaps this is good for the student, perhaps not.

I wish even in corporate training institutes, there are good skill development programs for good development of students - as much as they could afford to do in the available resources.  The students should become leaders, good in analysis and develop a good scientific/engineering approach.

If the situation is already like that nothing like it. great.

Hardware industry, manufacturing industry

Perhaps our software industry is in a good shape. But we are importing a lot of electronic, telecom or other hardware from abroad. This may be costing the country a lot in many ways. Of course there are benefits.

Wish that India becomes self sufficient as much as possible by manufacturing the needed hardware whether it is for educational, entertainment or industrial purposes.

That could generate a lot of employment at all levels in our society.

Similarly, perhaps we are importing a lot of equipment in various industries. Wish that we could make what we use, like we prepare what we eat/intend to eat.

New IITs and more institutes

India has grown in population and educated persons. Obviously we need more institutes in medicine, engg, business mgmt, accountancy, training, and so on. It is going to be a natural process for these to grow and match the best.

To attract the best faculty the Govt should increase the salaries of the professors at these institutes. Alternately, Govt could reduce taxes, provide free residence, phones etc. to be earning on par with professionals with the same qualification in education sector. Professors are respected everywhere and they enjoy the best environment with the most intelligent students. Their families enjoy the best campuses, neighbors and education. There are benefits in many ways. Wish that all professors are good in their communication skills along with their knowledge.

national tests and observation of trends over years

The performances of students at state level or national level could be studied for identifiable patterns perhps with the help of data wearhousing/mining packages.

The data is available for many years could be fed into the servers.  It may be possible to decide a strategy and forecast the way results would look like for that strategy.  This could facilitate a quick decision making and review of strategy, that too with ease.  Many state/national/research bodies could be interested in studying those patters of behavior of the data in multiple views.   Study of data behavior dependence on multiple parameters could be more easily understood.

The process of uploading data and other points could be decided as per convenience.

Authentification of schools, colleges etc.

Let us say a foreign or an Indian organization would like to verify that a school in which a student had studied many years ago, really existed at that time. Or, the degree certificate issuing institute really exists and not fake.

Let us say the ministry of education/concerned department/government body has listed on its official website all the authentic universities, autonomous institutes boards etc. that are recognized. The web site could be digitally certified for information security and authenticity. There is perhaps more than way of doing this.

The board or university lists the schools, colleges, institutes that are affiliated to it.  The websites of each of them being certified for information security and authenticity. The schools, colleges or institutes in turn list the names of students and alumni on their web sites.

The above solution could eliminate fake identities, certificates etc.  The certification would also ensure a hack proof system.

Authenticity of Identity cards and Certificates

It is possible that on a number of occasions an institute or a company is faced with a doubtful identity card or  a certificate which is mandatory for an exam or for admission. In such cases perhaps it would be a good solution to use hologram stickers to show the originality of the document.

When students apply to foreign universities the hologram could improve the trust of the university on the document.

IDentity checks during national level exams

We have a lot of entrance exams, board exams and degree exams, qualifying exams etc. at national level.  Often identification of the student with the photo (old photo/ scratches on it /not being in good condition) could be difficult for the examiner.  A student may attend multiple tests over years, each time the same difficulty arises. A student may be asked to bring in more identity proofs like voter card, school Identity card etc.  However, similar problems as above can happen. The examiner may not be quite happy with those proofs.  We could probably employ the following scheme where there is such a problem.

Government of India has made arrangements for the issue of a biometric identification card AADHAAR to all citizens. By now or soon all students at level X, XII or more should have them.  With the AADHAAR card along with college ID and exam related hall ticket could make a good set for identification.

1. AADHAAR identifies that the student is the same person identified by fingerprints.
2. College ID card identifies the student is a bonafide student of that institution.
3. Hall ticket shows that the student is eligible to write the exam.

As usual if the signature, photo and other details seem to be right for the examiner, then it's fine. If there is any disparity the the examiner could do verify the fingerprints.

1. Aadhaar data is available on data servers under government control.  The data of  students (at class X or XII level) could be copied to servers at selected regional centers.  At the examination centers we could have finger print identification instruments along with a computer with a network connection to the regional center server. As finger prints of multiple fingers are recorded already, it should be easy to confirm the student's identity. This procedure may take a long time for checking all students. For some doubtful cases that should be a good solution.

2. School identification and hall ticket could also carry the aadhaar card number to make a good connection among all IDs.
